Grigor Dimitrov booked his place in the third round of the Paris Masters thanks to a 7-6(3) 7-6(2) victory over Marin Cilic this afternoon.
It was an encounter that saw neither player claim a break of serve, although 2014 US Open champion Cilic did force 10 break points he was unable to convert.
As for the two breakers, they were dominated by 24-year-old Dimitrov, who dropped just five points to secure his win in two hours and 16 minutes.
It was the first time that Dimitrov had beaten the Croat, having lost the only other meeting between the pair in Brisbane almost two years ago.
The Bulgarian will now take on David Ferrer for a place in the quarter-finals.
