Michael Llodra overcame the challenge of America's John Isner in front of his home crowd at the Paris Masters this afternoon.
The big-serving Isner struggled to find any rhythm during the opening set and ended up losing 6-4 to his French opponent.
The second set was much more of an even contest that headed into a tie-breaker to determine a victor.
Despite both players holding their own service games initially, veteran Llodra claimed a crucial late break to book his place in round three of the competition with a 7-5 success.
He will now face either Juan Martin del Potro or Alejandro Falla for a slot in round four.
