Spaniard David Ferrer achieved a straight-sets victory over Nicolas Mahut at the Paris Masters this morning.
The 29-year-old rarely looked troubled by Mahut as he sealed his passage through to round three with a 6-4 6-4 success in just over one hour and 15 minutes.
Ferrer will now take on Alexandr Dolgopolov or Philipp Kohlschreiber in the next round in France.
World number five Ferrer has already qualified for the ATP World Tour Finals in London later this month.
