Seventh seed Gilles Simon reached the quarter-finals of the Aegon Championships at Queen's Club this afternoon with a straight-sets win over young Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis.
World number 70 Kokkinakis got off to a blistering start in London by winning eight points in a row at the start to break Simon and take a 2-0 lead.
Simon soon found his groove, though, winning the next four games to move in front before holding firm to clinch the first set 6-4.
Kokkinakis started the second strongly too, but again faded in the latter part of the set as Simon reeled off five games in a row from 2-1 down to clinch the match 6-4 6-2.
Simon will face either third seed Milos Raonic or fellow Frenchman Richard Gasquet in the last eight.
