World number one Victoria Azarenka was stunned in the quarter-finals of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami, Florida as she was beaten in straight sets by Marion Bartoli.
Bartoli enjoyed a strong start against her opponent as she broke serve twice on her way to a 4-0 lead.
An out-of-sorts Azarenka soon looked to have collected herself as she took a service game from the world number seven, but Bartoli hung on to claim the set 6-3.
It got worse for Azarenka in the second as she lost her first service game. However, she broke Bartoli back twice in succession to establish a 3-1 advantage.
Despite looking as if she would go on to level the match, Azarenka soon crumbled as the relentless Bartoli broke three times in a row to take the set 6-3 and book her place in the semi-finals.
