Czech Republic's Tomas Berdych has eased into the third round of the Rotterdam Open by beating Nicolas Mahut in straight sets on Thursday.
Mahut started well against his opponent's serve and should have broken in the third game, but Berdych pulled back from 0-40 down to hold.
From that point in the first set both men were solid on their serve before Berdych claimed the break in the last game of the set to take it 6-4.
There was only one break in the second as Berdych, at 4-3 up, took the eighth game to 15 and comfortably served out the final game for a place in the third round.
