Sixth seed Eugenie Bouchard has been knocked out of the Miami Masters in the second round by world number 113 Tatjana Maria.
It was a disastrous first set from the Canadian as she failed to get on the scoreboard, with Germany's Maria breaking three times and only offering her opponent one break-point chance.
Bouchard was more like her normal self in the second set, but she threw away a 5-3 lead as Maria forced a tie-break by winning three games in a row.
In the breaker, Bouchard had a 3-1 lead but then lost six of the next seven points to go down 7-4 and suffer a shock defeat in a little over an hour and a half.
Awaiting surprise winner Maria in the third round is world number 34 Belinda Bencic.
