Johanna Konta and Heather Watson have both advanced through to the second round of the Monterrey Open in Mexico.
British number one Konta took just over an hour to beat Colombia's Mariana Duque-Marino 6-3 6-3.
However, it was not so straightforward for Watson, who was taken the distance by her Japanese opponent Misaki Doi.
World number 84 Watson fell 2-0 behind in the third and final set, but she recovered to win through 6-4 (0)6-7 6-3.
She will now take on either Timea Babos or Polona Hercog for a place in round three.
As for Australian Open quarter-finalist Konta, either Yanina Wickmayer or Johanna Larsson will provide the opposition.
