Naomi Broady has been knocked out of the Luxembourg Open following a heavy loss to Puerto Rico's Monica Puig at the quarter-final stage.
The British number three, who saved match point against former Wimbledon finalist Sabine Lisicki in the previous round, suffered a 6-0 5-7 6-1 defeat.
Broady was overwhelmed in the opening set and the second looked destined for a similar outcome as she found herself 3-0 down.
The 27-year-old managed to find form, however, winning four games in a row to take the match to a third set, only for Puig to recover from her lapse and claim an easy victory in the decider.
Puig will take on Belgium's Elise Mertens, who beat Watson's compatriot Heather Watson, in the semi-finals.
