World number two Novak Djokovic advanced through to the second round of the Dubai Tennis Championships with a 6-3 6-3 win over Denis Istomin this afternoon.
The Serb was on the offensive from the very first game and went on to open up a one-set lead in just 37 minutes.
Istomin, ranked 54 in the world, put up a bit more resistance during the second set, but it wasn't enough to force a deciding set.
Djokovic, who has won the tournament on four previous occasions, will now take on Roberto Bautista-Agut for a place in the quarter-finals.
