Kyle Edmund has progressed into the Winston-Salem quarter-finals with a straight-sets victory over Roberto Carballes Baena.
The British number one is currently preparing for the US Open - which begins next week - and the 23-year-old has continued to build some momentum with a 7-5 7-5 triumph over the Spaniard.
Both sets took a similar path as Edmund was dominant behind his own delivery but unable to break Carballes Baena's serve, with the difference being Edmund's efforts at the end of each set.
A break in the closing stages of the first and second were enough to secure victory in one hour and 31 minutes.
Edmund will now face American Steve Johnson for a place in the last four of the ATP250 event.
