Roger Federer will face Tomas Berdych in the final of the Madrid Open after the world number three saw off Janko Tipsarevic in straight sets.
Federer looked to be in dominant form from the start as an early break of serve gave him the initiative.
He was able to draw his Serbian opponent to the net a number of times before he broke again to take the set 6-2.
The 16-time major winner was relentless in the second and managed to find a break to race into a 4-1 lead.
Despite some late resistance from world number eight Tipsarevic, Federer proved too strong and won 6-3 to claim the match.
