David Ferrer has eased into the quarter-finals of the Sony Ericsson Open with a straight-sets win over Juan del Potro.
The Spaniard claimed victory in one hour and 35 minutes after starting off brightly in the opening set in Miami.
The world number five took an early 3-0 lead in the early stages, which threw his Argentine opponent off balance.
Once Ferrer had taken the one-set lead, the advantage was with the 29-year-old, who managed to maintain his dominance and finish off the clash.
Ferrer will now face Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals, after the Serbian overcame Richard Gasquet 7-5 6-3.
