American number one Mardy Fish defeated Kevin Anderson to advance through to round four of the Miami Open this afternoon.
South African youngster Anderson traded serves with Fish during the early exchanges, only for the latter to record a late break to claim the opening set 6-4.
The next set proved to be more straight forward for Fish, who served out to wrap up a 6-4 6-3 success in his home tournament.
Fish will take on either Nicolas Almagro or Fernando Verdasco in the next round.
