David Goffin moved into the fourth round of the Miami Open for the first time in his career by beating Jerzy Janowicz 6-3 6-4 this evening.
The Belgian made a strong start and broke his opponent in the opening point of the match to dominate the first set.
Janowicz was broken again at 5-2 down, and despite winning the next point he was unable to muster a comeback as Goffin served out the set.
The second set began just as badly for Janowicz as he once again lost his first serve and was broken twice more as he crashed out of the tournament.
Goffin will now face fourth-seed Kei Nishikori in the next round, after the Japanese claimed a victory over Viktor Troicki earlier today.
