Simona Halep is through to the fourth round of the Miami Open thanks to a 6-4 7-5 win over Camila Giorgi.

Giorgi started the match strongly and held off Halep's attacking game until midway through the first set when the world number three broke her serve.

Halep held serve to win the first set, but she couldn't carry her momentum into the second as she continued to make unforced errors on Giorgi's serve.

However, her class showed as she broke the Italian in the 11th game and served the match out on her next service game.
