Simona Halep has cruised into the semi-finals at Indian Wells, beating Australian qualifier Casey Dellacqua 6-2 6-2 this evening.
The sixth seed was in dominant form from the start, winning four of the first five games before serving out for a one-set lead.
Her 29-year-old opponent struggled with her serve in the opener, getting fewer than half of her deliveries in, allowing Halep to seal a couple of early breaks.
Although Dellacqua improved in the second set, the Romanian saved eight break points against her serve to make sure that the Australian did not have a chance to get back in the match.
Halep will face either Jelena Jankovic or Agnieszka Radwanska in the last four.
