Seventh seed Philipp Kohlschreiber has booked his place in round two of the Dubai Tennis Championships with a straight-sets win against Dutch qualifier Thiemo de Bakker.
The German came through the opening set 6-3 before closing out the match by the same scoreline in the second.
Kohlschreiber's reward for beating De Bakker is a clash with Italy's Andreas Seppi.
Seppi, who is ranked 31st in the world, saw off Florian Mayer 4-6 6-1 7-5 earlier on Monday to seal his progress.
