Johanna Konta has eased into the quarter-finals of the Miami Open courtesy of a 6-2 6-2 victory over Romania's Monica Niculescu.
The Brit raced into a 4-0 lead in the first set, which she eventually saw out with minimal fuss.
Konta then broke at the first time of asking in the second set to put herself in total command of proceedings.
"It felt like we had a lot of close games and I had to work hard for every single point," she told BBC Sport.
The 24-year-old, who is the first British female to ever reach the last eight of the tournament, will now take on world number eight Victoria Azarenka.
Konta is Britain's sole representative on the Atlantic Coast after Andy Murray and Heather Watson were both defeated last night.
