Britain's Johanna Konta has failed to reach the final of the Aegon International in Eastbourne following a three-set defeat to Karolina Pliskova.
The 25-year-old was in strong form heading into the showdown, having seen off Ekaterina Makarova in straight sets in the previous round.
However, she could not do the job in the semi-finals as Pliskova sealed a 6-7(5) 6-3 6-3 victory in the Wimbledon warm-up tournament.
It was a close first set as neither player could create a break point, therefore resulting in a tie-break, which was nabbed 7-5 by Konta.
The Brit was unable to keep hold of the momentum, though, as she was broken early in the second set and failed to recover, but put up a stronger fight in the third.
Konta battled back from a double break down to snatch serve on her fifth break point, but it was not enough to inspire a comeback as Pliskova completed victory in two hours and 20 minutes.
