Li Na has progressed into the third round of the Rome Masters with a 6-3 6-1 victory over compatriot Zheng Jie.
The number five seed stormed to a strong lead in the first set by grabbing a break of serve at the first time of asking and taking a 3-0 lead.
However, Zheng fought back to level on games, but Li's powerful returns and quick feet allowed her to regain dominance and wrap up the set.
Li kept her control of the clay court with strong serves and an early break, from which Zheng was unable to recover, and booked a place in the next round.
