Number 23 seed Ekaterina Makarova has advanced to the fourth round of the Miami Masters after a hard-fought win over Sara Errani.
Makarova began the match well and dominated the first set, earning a crucial break that allowed her to clinch it 6-3.
However, the number nine seed rallied in the second, matching Makarova's intensity from the first and breaking her twice to take it 6-2.
The 25-year-old found the form of the first set once again and just managed to edge out Errani to win the third 6-4 and earn her place in the fourth round in just under two-and-a-half hours.
Makarova will now face Angelique Kerber.
