Gael Monfils has romped into the second round of the Madrid Open thanks to a comfortable straight-sets triumph over Viktor Troicki.
The Frenchman was ruthless in the opening set as two breaks of serve saw him take it 6-2 with just 26 minutes on the clock.
Monfils's energetic style proved too much for Troicki again in the second, with the world number 15 hammering the Serbian 6-2 6-0.
The former French Open semi-finalist will now face either Martin Klizan or Marcel Granollers for a spot in round three.
