Andy Murray needed just over an hour to secure his place in the quarter-finals at the Miami Masters as he beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-4 6-1 this evening.
The British number one secured an early break against the Frenchman, who fought hard to hold serve for the rest of the opening set but could not challenge the Wimbledon champion's serve.
Murray dominated in the second, swiftly opening up a 5-1 lead before bringing up three match points against his opponent's serve, which had been patchy throughout.
The 11th seed saved the first, but missed his serve while looking to wipe out the second, allowing Murray to attack the second serve and wrap up the match.
Murray will face second seed Novak Djokovic in the last eight.
