Rafael Nadal has beaten Nick Kyrgios 6-2 6-1 in the final of the China Open to earn his sixth title of the calendar year.
The world number one added to his recent US Open success by going all the way in the Far East to reclaim the trophy that he last won in 2005.
Kyrgios made a bright start to the contest, fending off five break points in the second game to keep things tight in the opening set.
Nadal soon grew into the match a little more, though, earning the first break in the sixth game, before being given a helping hand in the eighth when his opponent was penalised for complaining to the umpire.
The second set proved to be straightforward for the 16-time Grand Slam champion, as he continued to hold his serve and earned breaks in the second and fourth games to get over the line.
