World number one Novak Djokovic has booked his place in the quarter-finals of the Miami Open thanks to a 6-3 6-4 victory over Dominic Thiem.
However, it was not all plain sailing for Djokovic, who was made to work hard for the win by his Austrian opponent.
Thiem forced a total of eight break points during the first set, but he could not convert any of them.
There were no such issues for Djokovic, though, as he required just one break of the 22-year-old's serve to take the set.
Serbian Djokovic was eventually broken at the 11th time of asking as the second set was evened up at three games apiece.
Yet, Thiem won just one more game, leaving Djokovic to wrap up his 23rd victory of 2016.
He will now take on Tomas Berdych for a semi-final berth.
