Roger Federer has moved into the fourth round of the Miami Masters courtesy of a comfortable 6-3 6-3 victory over Thiemo de Bakker this evening.
Federer almost pulled off a break of serve at the first time of asking in the opening set, but De Bakker managed to battle back from a break point and hold on.
It proved to be just a temporary reprieve, however, as Federer did get the crucial break in De Bakker's next service game before seeing out the set for a 6-3 victory.
The number five seed then made a perfect start to the second set with a break in the opening game to put himself in complete control of proceedings.
He finished off the job and booked his place in the fourth round with another break in the ninth game of the set, clinching the victory with the third of his match points.
