David Ferrer has beaten Feliciano Lopez in straight sets in round two of the Mexican Open.
The number one seed was made to work for the first set, with both players holding serve.
That meant that a tie-break was needed, and Ferrer began to take control despite a shaky start which saw Lopez secure the first break of the match.
However, Ferrer raced into a 6-1 lead and made no mistake with the next point to secure the set.
The second set was much easier for Ferrer. He broke his opponent twice and then held serve for a 7-6(1) 6-2 victory.
