Andrea Petkovic overcame Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova in straight sets this evening to book her place in the final of the Paribas Fortis Diamond Games in Antwerp.
The German had to work hard to prevail in both sets, securing a 7-6[2)] 7-6[6] triumph to book a meeting with Carla Suarez Navarro tomorrow.
Both players lost serve on four occasions in the opener, although it was Strycova who could have drawn first blood when she was presented with a set point which she failed to take.
Petkovic then won five games in a row to swing momentum her way, yet a tie-break was to be required to separate the pair, which the 27-year-old took to edge ahead.
Having lost her serve in the opening game of the second set, Petkovic managed to earn a second tie-break and once more came out on top after seeing her opponent waste another set point.
