Milos Raonic moved into the last eight of the Madrid Open by earning a straight-sets victory over Leonardo Mayer this evening.
The Canadian needed one hour and 20 minutes to earn a 6-4 6-3 victory, which has set up a quarter-final meeting with Andy Murray.
The opening set proved to be a closely-fought affair, with both players holding serve until the final game, when Raonic crucially broke his Argentine opponent.
In the second set, Mayer was broken early on by Raonic, who comfortably held his side to seal his passage into the next round.
