Britain's Laura Robson began her new season with a comfortable 6-2 6-1 victory over Edina Gallovits-Hall in the Shenzhen Open.
The 18-year-old, ranked 54 places higher than her opponent, dominated from the outset, bullying Gallovits-Hall with her powerful groundstrokes.
Romanian Gallovits-Hall, 28, didn't help herself by double-faulting on eight occasions as Robson won through in exactly an hour.
She will meet Gallovits-Hall's compatriot Monica Niculescu in the second round in Shenzhen.
