Venus Williams has won the Dubai Championships by defeating Alize Cornet in the final.
The 33-year-old American got the better of her French opponent 6-3 6-0 on Saturday.
Cornet had defeated world number one Serena Williams 6-4 6-4 in the semi-finals on Friday, but failed to step up against her elder sister.
The contest lasted 91 minutes, with Williams converting five of the eight break points against Cornet's serve, although the 24-year-old world number 26 did clinch the first break of the match.
However, Williams, now ranked 44 in the world, did not allow that to affect her and sealed the victory in straight sets.
This is Williams's first WTA Tour title since her Luxembourg Open triumph back in October 2012.
