Andy Murray has been named as the second seed for the Rogers Cup, which is being staged in Montreal next week.
Last week, the British number one suffered a surprise three-set defeat to Teymuraz Gabashvili in his opening match at the Citi Open in Washington, before citing exhaustion as the main reason for his setback.
However, the 28-year-old has received a boost ahead of the Masters Series event in Canada by being placed in the opposite half of the draw to Novak Djokovic due to the absence of Roger Federer.
After receiving a bye through to the second round, Murray will play either Feliciano Lopez or Tommy Robredo in the last 32.
British number four James Ward will play Alejandro Falla in qualifying on Saturday.
