Roger Federer has announced that he will play no part in next week's Rogers Cup in Montreal.
The former world number one recently revealed that he could pull out of the contest due to "serious problems" with his back.
The Swiss pro wrote on his official Facebook page: "I am disappointed not to be playing in Montreal next week.
"It is a great tournament with amazing fans. I look forward to competing there in the future."
The news comes after Federer lost his third-straight match to an opponent ranked outside of the top 50 when he was beaten in the second round of the Swiss Open by Daniel Brands last week.
