Roger Federer has reached the final of the Rogers Cup after he recorded a comfortable victory over Feliciano Lopez.
Lopez had made it through to the last four after impressing on serve throughout the tournament, but Federer was able to diffuse the Spaniard's biggest weapon to earn a 6-3 6-4 win.
The number two seed created 10 break-point opportunities during the opener, but he only needed to convert one to move ahead of the left-hander.
Lopez struggled to land his first serve in the second set and that allowed Federer to break again before serving out for the match with relative ease.
Federer will now play Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in Sunday's final after the Frenchman saw off the challenge of Grigor Dimitrov.
