Agnieszka Radwanska's hopes of becoming world number one have been ended with a defeat to Li Na in the quarter-finals of the Rogers Cup in Montreal.
The Pole would have gone to the top of the WTA rankings if she had won the Canadian tournament.
However, a 6-2 6-1 loss to the Chinese saw Radwanska fail to reach the last four.
Li will take on Lucie Safarova or Roberta Vinci for a place in the final.
