Kevin Anderson has crashed out of the Rogers Cup after suffering a straight-sets defeat to Lukas Rosol.
The 12th seed sent down 20 aces against the world number 63 but he could not stop the Czech from securing a 7-6 7-6 triumph in Montreal.
Despite both men possessing a big serve, there were as many as 10 break points during a closely-fought opener, which Rosol took after dominating in a tie-break.
Normality was restored in the second as both men raced through their service games, but like in the first, it was Rosol who held his nerve in the tie-break to earn a spot in the last 32.
