Maria Sharapova has come through her encounter with Kim Clijsters to make it into the semi-finals of the women's Olympic singles at Wimbledon.
The Russian dominated the opening set and broke three times to take it 6-2 in what was a battle of the Olympic debutantes.
Clijsters showed more resistance in the second and managed to cancel out an early break.
With both players taking part in a number of gruelling rallies from the baseline, Sharapova found a decisive second break before she served out the match 7-5.
The French Open champion's win has set up a semi-final showdown with fellow Russian Maria Kirilenko.
