Unseeded Kazakh Mikhail Kukushkin continued his impressive run at the Shanghai Masters by defeating 16th seed Kevin Anderson in straight sets this afternoon.
After edging out world number 20 Tommy Robredo in the opening round yesterday, Kukushkin lost just six games in a 70-minute victory over South Africa's Anderson.
The one and only break of the first set came in the opening game when Kukushkin instantly snapped Anderson's serve. He went on to comfortably hold every one of his service games and claim the opener 6-4.
It was a similar story in the second, but this time world number 85 Kukushkin broke Anderson twice to race into a 4-0 lead, going on to wrap up victory 6-2.
Top seed Novak Djokovic is his likely opponent in round three. The Serb faces Dominic Thiem tomorrow.
