Youngster Bernard Tomic has caused an upset at the Shanghai Masters by defeating American number one Mardy Fish.
Australian Tomic, at 18 years old the youngest player in the tournament, lost the first set in China 6-4.
However, the current world number 49 responded in positive fashion to take the second set 6-1.
Both players held their serves in the decisive rubber until Fish was broken in the ninth game, allowing Tomic to triumph 6-4 and advance through.
He will now face France's Gilles Simon in round three.
