Great Britain's Olympic tennis team have been informed that they will not be allowed to attend Friday's Olympic opening ceremony.
Tennis team leader Paul Hutchins informed the squad by email that they would not be attending the event.
A spokesman for the British Olympic Association told BBC Sport: "It is a choice made by each sport team leader together with the athletes.
"While the ceremonies are a significant occasion, performance comes first for Team GB's athletes."
All of Great Britain's eight-strong squad will be in action on Saturday.
