Great Britain's Andy Murray has reached the gold-medal final of the Olympic men's singles by overcoming world number two Novak Djokovic this evening.
After holding to-love in his opening service game, Murray squandered the opportunity of an early break by missing out twice in the next.
However, Murray would break through later on in the set by taking his first set point at 6-5 to go ahead.
The second set ended up, on paper, following exactly the same pattern as the first, with neither man dropping serve until the 12th game when Murray broke through to seal his place in the gold-medal final.
The Scot had to hang on to his serve throughout the second set as he saved all four break points that Djokovic was offered before clinching the first of his own at 0-40, 6-5 to wrap up the match and send the Centre Crowd into raptures.
The 25-year-old will come up against Roger Federer for the gold medal on Sunday in a repeat of last month's Wimbledon final, which Federer won in four sets.
