Great Britain's Johanna Konta and Heather Watson have suffered defeat in the second round of the women's doubles at the Olympic Games.
The pair had impressed in their opening-round win on Saturday evening but they could not match that display as they lost out to Chinese Taipei duo Chan Yung-jan and Chan Hao-ching.
Konta and Watson recorded the only break of serve during the opening set as they threatened to spring an upset against the third seeds but they were whitewashed during a one-sided second.
The decider featured five breaks of serve as both nations stayed in contention, but Konta and Watson were unable to get over the line and Chinese Taipei prevailed 3-6 6-0 6-4.
Earlier in the day, Konta beat Caroline Garcia to reach the last 16 of the singles but Watson lost out to Elina Svitolina.
