Serena Williams has claimed that she played the best tennis of her career to win the gold medal at the London Olympics.
The American brushed aside Maria Sharapova 6-1 6-0 in Saturday's final on Wimbledon's Centre Court to complete the prestigious Career Grand Slam.
"I didn't think I would be this happy. Oh my gosh, I got the gold. Wow," she said.
"I've never played better. Playing against someone like Maria you have to be at your best. I knew that, so it was like I had nothing to lose.
"I have singles, doubles, actually everything there is to win in tennis. Where do I go from here?"
Williams is also the first player in the history of the game to win the Career Grand Slam in both singles and doubles.
