Johanna Konta has revealed that she hopes her experience of playing on Centre Court at Wimbledon will help her ahead of her clash with Petra Kvitova.
In June, Konta suffered a straight-sets defeat to Maria Sharapova at SW19, but after admitting that she didn't savour the experience as much as she would have liked, the British number two is hoping that will not be the case on her first outing at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
The 24-year-old is quoted by ESPN.co.uk as saying: "There was a lot of firsts for me in that match.
"I was playing Maria Sharapova, for one, but I was also on Centre Court at Wimbledon, and that was pretty special. I didn't quite let it all in."
The last-16 clash between fifth seed Kvitova and Konta will open Monday's night session at Flushing Meadows.
