Feliciano Lopez has admitted that he was an undeserving winner in his second-round clash with Mardy Fish at the US Open.
Fatigue put paid to the hopes of Fish, who will now retire from professional tennis, during the five-set encounter, and Lopez has heaped praise on the American after booking his place in the last 32.
After the match, the 33-year-old said: "I have to say that he was a better player than me overall.
"I was lucky I won the fourth set, and then he was cramping in the fifth. I think he deserved the win."
Lopez will now face Milos Raonic after the Canadian beat Fernando Verdasco in four sets.
