Venus Williams has admitted that no-one wants to be the "spoiler" as her sister Serena Williams attempts to complete the calendar Grand Slam at the US Open.
The world number one has won the titles at the first three Grand Slam events in 2015, and will become the first woman since Steffi Graf in 1988 to win all four in the same year if she defends her Flushing Meadows crown.
Venus, who will face the top seed in the quarter-finals, said at her pre-match press conference: "I don't think anyone wants to be a spoiler. I think people love to see history being made. No-one is out to be a spoiler, but at the same time, you're focused on winning your match even though the circumstances are really much different than you [would want].
"When you get into that habit of winning, it gets, I don't know if you call it contagious, but it gets to be a habit. She's developed an unbelievable habit."
Venus has won 11 of her previous 26 meetings with Serena.
