Roger Federer has produced a virtuoso performance to dispatch Carlos Berlocq 6-3 6-2 6-1 and book his place in the third round of the US Open.
The Swiss, a six-time winner of the competition, needed a little over half-an-hour to put his first set on the board, beating his Argentine counterpart 6-3.
Berlocq, ranked 48th in the world, lost his serve three times in the opening five games of the second set, before the world number seven broke once more to claim a comfortable second set.
Federer, who is yet to drop a set in the tournament, then resumed his dominance over the 30-year-old by breaking his serve in the opening three games, before moving one step closer to a seventh title.
