Ernests Gulbis has defeated Kenny De Schepper 6-1 6-4 6-2 to reach the second round of the US Open.
The Latvian stormed into a 5-0 lead in the opener, going on to drop a solitary game before clinching it in the space of just 20 minutes.
Gulbis was made to work a little harder in the second set as the Frenchman showed some resistance, but normal service was resumed in the third.
The 11th seed coasted to a 6-2 win in the decisive set to wrap up the match in one hour and 34 minutes and set up a second-round clash with Dominic Thiem.
