Grigor Dimitrov has recorded a straight-sets victory over American Ryan Harrison in front of his home crowd to reach round two of the US Open.
The big-serving Bulgarian looked in control throughout the opening set, registering a decisive break with the score at 5-2 to put a dent in the local star's hopes.
Harrison offered more resistance in the second set, but fumbled the opportunity to wrap it up by allowing Dimitrov to break his serve for 5-5, before surrendering the resulting tie-break 4-6.
The third set was a one-sided affair, with Dimitrov back in control. Although the American managed to hold to 30 for 5-2 to make the scoreline more respectable, the Bulgarian went on to serve out the match.
